From the President

April 2024

Our board came together in February for a full-day planning Ryan Wilson, smiling.session focused on our upcoming 2024 conference. It was an enriching experience for several reasons. Firstly, I was able to meet the entire board in person. This face-to-face interaction allowed us to build stronger relationships and create a more collaborative atmosphere. Exchanging ideas and brainstorming in person can be more dynamic than virtual meetings.

The focus of the meeting was, of course, planning for the 2024 conference. We were excited to explore the details and strategies to make it the best. Hopefully, you have all read our conference update email and are as excited as we are.

Remember, we are looking for your input!

We're actively seeking experienced technical communicators (writers, information architects, etc.) to share their knowledge on career paths and industry trends and build a solid technical communicator brand. Speakers will gain valuable exposure and the opportunity to network with industry leaders.

Your ideas are invaluable and will help us create an unmissable conference.

We're also seeking panelists to discuss these specific themes!

Email us at comms@techcomm.nz to nominate speakers or suggest yourself.

Overall, the February meeting was a significant step forward in bringing our board together and making our 2024 conference successful. It was an excellent opportunity to connect and energise everyone about the upcoming event.
