Mount Cook Airline is a fully owned subsidiary of Air New Zealand Ltd and is responsible for operating the ATR72 aircraft under the Air New Zealand brand. The manufacture of the aircraft (ATR) is currently in the throes of delivering Phase 1 of a project that will culminate in the operational document suite for the aircraft being delivered to operators as XML data. Operators will then, using the supplied tools, have the ability to produce their own customised versions of the manuals in both soft and hard forms.

Phase one is the conversion of all the existing operational manuals to XML data by ATR and the supply of relevant, customised manuals to each operator as .pdf. This is currently in progress. Phase 2 should commence sometime in 2017 and will result in operators having access to the XML, if they so wish. It is Mount Cook Airline’s intention to take this option.

The project manager responsible for introducing these manuals for Mount Cook Airline is seeking the assistance of an XML subject matter expert to mentor and help him develop an understanding of the knowledge and skillset required to produce documents from raw XML for Phase 2 of the project.
