About the opportunity

The CTCT division of Trimble is seeking a Content Developer intern for its User Assistance (UA) team. The work would involve the design and development of a number of prioritised deliverables, and involves a diverse range of UA disciplines from content architecture to HTML/CSS design and coding. The team uses MadCap Flare as its authoring/publishing tool.

What you will do

  • Redesign and recreate existing documents to improve usability
  • Develop CSS to support responsive output from our authoring/publishing tool for mobile devices
  • Develop CSS to support a variety of outputs from our authoring/publishing tool
  • Contribute to the development of publishing workflow automation tools
  • Potential collaboration with translation coordinators to understand and improve workflows, such as glossary development, file restructuring or general admin support
  • Potential collaboration with the UX (User Experience) team to assist with graphic design tasks.

What you will bring

  • Experience working with authoring/publishing tools, preferably MadCap Flare
  • Experience with web technologies such as CSS and HTML
  • An interest in, or general understanding of front-end web development technologies such as Javascript is a plus
  • Ability to communicate, and explain ideas and document processes
  • Passion for problem understanding and solving
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Experience in working with Adobe Illustrator/graphic design in general a plus
  • Experience/interest in translation/localisation a plus
  • Pursuing an undergraduate qualification in Information Design, Technical Writing, or a related field.
