This is my last report before the AGM on 23 September. I’m looking forward next month to reporting on a really well supported AGM and the addition of a few keen new people on the Board. Here’s hoping…

Hamilton Branch Report: Hamilton TechComm is alive!
As a newly resurrected branch, Hamilton is embracing its future motto (after all, we have been – for some time now – the city of the future). As I walk down the foggy lane to our just recently proclaimed bi-monthly meeting in Hamilton town centre, I am savouring the opportunity to step back from my usual everyday tasks; marking linguistics assignments, writing academic research articles, and preparing new lectures, and to shifting perspective to an entirely new mode: enjoying the chance to ponder what I love about language. Full stop.
Christchurch/Wellington branch report: The tech comm career ladder and you
This month’s event in Christchurch was exciting in two ways. First, our Branch Coordinators and our Student Outreach Coordinator worked together to bring us an event designed to be equally useful to both our student and our veteran members. And second, we worked with the Wellington branch to livestream the event. We’re delighted to report that the event was a success on both fronts.
