TechCommNZ Webinar: One command to rule them all: Introduction to Word macros

Macros can save Word users hours of time. But what's a macro? Can anyone create one? Learn the basics of Word macros so you can start creating your own to automate repetitive tasks.

Learning outcomes

In this session you will learn:

  • What macros are and how they can help you (with examples)
  • How to record and run a basic macro
  • How to assign a keyboard shortcut or toolbar button to a macro
  • How to copy and edit a macro, including testing and adding comments
  • Where to safely store your macros.

Note: This session focuses on Word for Windows. Mac users should be able to do similar things, but there are no guarantees. Skill level: intermediate to advanced users of Word.
