TechCommNZ Webinar: Trim the mainsail! How a common language helps teams sustain their course.

Technical experts are key to our survival. They have deep knowledge, specialist skills and ambitious visions that can move us forward across a range of fields and industries. Unlocking this potential often depends on how well they connect with others.

Sailing a small yacht from New Zealand to Ireland with her technically-inclined husband gave Eithne first-hand exposure to the communication obstacles faced by many technical and cross-functional teams. She draws on this experience and her natural gift for storytelling to explain the value of learning to speak a common language. And how you can craft a common language in your team.

Moving to New Zealand, she spent the next 10 years working alongside technical specialists in some of our largest companies, equipping them with the skills and structures to foster effective communication.

Eithne holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Languages. Having semi-circumnavigated the globe on a 35-foot yacht with her husband Myles, she remains a keen sailor, and enjoys getting out on the water with their young family
