About the presenter

Janet studied English literature and librarianship before spending twenty-five years doing book indexes—manually! She then moved into copy-editing, freelance, then for a magazine and, until recently, worked at the Select Committee Office at Parliament. Along the way she has taught writing at tertiary level and, with Derek Wallace, published two style guides. When asked about her specialty, she replies “improving copy”.
