The conference day will go ahead on this date no matter what – if lockdown persists and we cannot meet in person, we’ll make arrangements to hold it as a virtual conference.
Where is it?
Ara Institute of Canterbury Ltd, City Campus, Christchurch
What is it?
We’ve decided this year to hold ConferenceLite: a one-day, NZ-only, mini-conference in Christchurch. It will have all the best bits of a full conference – networking, speakers, lunch and the AGM – just a fraction of the time and cost!
Our theme is “light”; whether that’s casting light on a murky concept, the light at the end of the tunnel, lightening your workload, or something else.
Our goal for ConferenceLite is to bring together technical communicators from around New Zealand for a day of networking and learning.
Because Covid-19 is still a worry, we’re asking any overseas speakers to do a Zoom talk only. This will be the case regardless of whether the Australia-NZ travel bubble re-opens or not.
There will also be a dinner on Saturday night for anyone who is interested (Covid-19 restrictions permitting). We’re still confirming details, so watch this space!
Who is speaking?
So far, we have confirmed 4 speakers and there are still more to come! Each speaker will talk for 30 minutes.
You’ll hear from (listed in no particular order):
- Keynote and ITX Excellence in Technical Writing Award winner, Emma Harding
- Accessibility specialist, Katherine Barcham
- Technical writer with a flare for software development, Chris Dorsey
- Australia-based technical writer advocate, Swapnil Ogale
If you’d like to be a speaker, contact email@example.com with your topic idea! We are looking for talks that showcase real world experiences and lessons learned, with some takeaways for the audience.
How much will it cost?
Registration includes lunch and morning tea.
