Helping Students Get Ahead

March 2018

Student

We want to help our student members get ahead! In 2018, the President of TechCommNZ is giving a letter of reference to any student member who attends 6 branch events or webinars in a year.

Not many people know that professional development counts as experience. As a graduate with little industry experience, this is invaluable. Demonstrated dedication to your chosen career, along with the skills you will pick up, will bolster your CV and set you apart from the crowd.

Get a head start on your professional development this year with our next webinar Māori Cultural Competency for technical communicators (Friday 6th April), presented by our very own rockstar Shelly Davies. If you're based in Christchurch, it's not too late to register for Real users, and what to do about them (Wednesday 14th March), presented by the President herself, Meredith Evans.

Visit our Current Events page for upcoming events, including webinars, branch meetings and networking opportunities. Student members who have registered for and attended six events in 2018 can contact Student Outreach Coordinator Katie Haggath to apply for a letter of reference. Please note that a webinar series advertised as one event with one registration will count as one event only.
