The Plain English Awards encourage New Zealand organisations to favour clarity over complexity and celebrate those who choose to be clear. On 23 November people from throughout New Zealand will be celebrating the winners of this year's Plain English Awards at a ceremony in Wellington, and you're invited!
What the Awards aim to achieve
The Plain English Awards are now in their 12th year, and aim to:
- improve government and business documents so that all New Zealanders can understand them.
- raise public awareness of the need for, and benefits of, plain English.
- create a public preference for organisations that choose to communicate in plain English.
