University of Canterbury announces Master of Writing

October 2017

Looking for an alternative to the GDIDM in Christchurch? The University of Canterbury has announced a new Master of Writing qualification, which includes professional, technical, and fiction and non-fiction writing.

Described as "for students with an interest in professional, academic, creative and technical writing", UC's new Master of Writing is a one-year, coursework-based Master's degree, taught at UC's campus in Christchurch.

Though extramural study doesn't yet seem to be on the cards, the MWRIT is offered part-time for technical communicators who don't want to take a year off work. The university estimates that it will take you between 18 and 36 months to complete part-time.

Philip Armstrong of the University of Canterbury will be attending the Christchurch branch event on Wednesday 18 October, to talk briefly about the qualification.
