Webinar: Maori Cultural Competency for technical communicators

Worried about your level of understanding with things Māori? Many of us find ourselves feeling culturally out of our depth at one time or another. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone, and this webinar is for you. We'll cover some basic insights into how Māori understand and interact with our world.

If you worry about the possibility of getting things wrong and causing offence, here's a great place to start - knowing the right questions to ask when engaging with Māori stakeholders and clients.

You might know Shelly and her energy from our plain language webinar series. Book this one hour and be entertained and informed in her usual dorky, entertaining, but pretty damn irresistible way. Learn the 50 different things "kia ora" can mean (ok, not really 50 but still lots!), and let's just get a bit more comfortable with things Māori. Go on. Nau mai, haere mai!

Learning outcomes

  • cultural understanding to improve relationships
  • recognising that we don't know what we don't know
  • knowing there's no one "Māori way" of anything
