Wellington Branch Event - Tech Comm in the New Zealand Defence Force

Ever wondered what technical communication looks like in the New Zealand Defence Force?

Come along to our next branch event and find out from Craig Pitman - Manager of Publications, Information & Drawing Support (PIDS) in the Directorate of Engineering and Technical Airworthiness.

Craig’s team is responsible for the technical and administrative publications that support the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) and New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) personnel to carry out their day-to-day work.

In his talk, Craig’s going to give us a glimpse into the PIDS team and what they do. He’ll talk about:

  • the types of publications they produce
  • who uses them and how
  • the tools and methods the team uses to produce them.

Bring your questions! This is a great chance to delve into a world we don’t often hear much about. And to see how technical communication contributes to Aotearoa/New Zealand maintaining well trained, equipped, and disciplined armed forces that can react to a crisis at short notice.
