Auckland Branch Event - Beginning the year with Unsession (Stories, Interaction and Collaboration)

Do you have something to share with other technical communicators? Are you interested in knowing what is happening in the techcomm industry? Or just willing to meet other technical writers in Auckland?

Welcome to the UnSession, an experimental collaboration experience intended to conjure learning out of thin air. Unlike standard sessions, the UnSession has no papers, no presentations, no lectures or lecterns, and no PowerPoints (except Me though). What it has is the collective wisdom of its participants, and the patient guidance of a handful of moderators who are present not to impart knowledge but to document and facilitate it, and perhaps benefit from it as much as the attendees themselves. Here in the UnSession, everyone is a moderator and everyone is a participant.

If you are wondering about what can you share, here you go:

  • What techcomm projects are you working on? What's going well? What isn't?
  • What learning path do you have in mind for 2016? What do you think is going to change this year?
  • Perhaps you have a story rolled up your sleeve or folded in your pockets. There are always interesting stories accompanying people.

Come along! Let’s have some fun!

Wait, forgot about one more thing. There will be a fun technical writing quiz as well. So gear up and refresh your knowledge.
