Tait Communications is looking for an experienced technical author to complete our friendly team of six. The primary tasks for the successful applicant will be the maintenance of Help files for anything from very large to very small software applications (PC, web-based and handheld devices), and also the creation of new software and system documentation for our state-of-the-art solutions. Secondary tasks will include the creation and maintenance of training materials, such as slides, narration scripts, and workbooks, based on the released user documentation.

Tait solutions can be complex, so curiosity and a passion for technical learning are essential. Tait will provide the necessary training to come up to speed with our products and communications technology as well as the different users we support. In time, we expect our technical authors to become product experts in their own right.

You will be working very closely with our Agile software teams and system engineers using Jira as a means of processing raised issues.

We use FrameMaker for authoring and MadCap Flare to build our Help files. It would be great if you have experience in the extensive use of FrameMaker's conditional text capabilities, and have a high degree of discipline when it comes to handling larger deliverables. The team's processes are well documented, and support is always at hand should you need it.

If this sounds like you, please apply directly to the Technical Publications Manager. Applications close on Monday, 06 November 2017.
