Information Designer

About the role:

Airways is looking for an Information Designer to join our Information Design team in a permanent role based in Auckland or Christchurch, with flexible work arrangements and free onsite carparking.

As part of the team, you will:

• Work with a variety of different stakeholders to design and deliver information solutions. This includes air traffic controllers, field technicians, systems engineers, software engineers, managers, and others.
• Manage and maintain a variety of content, such as air traffic control procedures, technical and business processes, emergency response instructions, and health and safety guidelines.
• Support the digitisation and standardisation of operational procedures. These are used in 21 control towers and surveillance centres around the country to keep our skies safe.
• Join a growing collaborative team that focuses on continuous improvement in a safety-focused and highly regulated industry.

About you:

To be successful you will need to have proven experience in information design and exceptional writing skills. You will be adept at interpreting complex technical information and developing compliant operational documentation, with a talent for writing policies and procedures. Ideally you are someone who works successfully cross-functionally and collaborates well with a diverse group of people.

A relevant tertiary degree or qualification in information design or technical writing would be advantageous, as would previous experience being involved in an environment of positive change with a focus on process improvements. It would be additionally beneficial if you have a background in the air navigation services or aviation industry.
