Auckland Branch Event: A picture doesn't say 1000 words - it says a whole lot more
We can create appealing content, however if this is accompanied by unappealing screenshots or other visual aids, it’s a deterrent for the audience. Be honest with yourself, we are all allured to bling. You wouldn’t go to a formal dinner party in shorts and jandals, neither would you buy a new car with inferior paintwork, it’s the finishing touches that make the mark.
As a designer of many things, Andrew Eccles loves illustrations in all forms. He has used Adobe Photoshop since release 1.0 in 1990 and when unavailable, has improvised with other tools. Along the journey, he has devised his own specialised techniques for editing and enhancing screenshots. Techniques that you can apply to any picture editor, be it MS paint, SnagIT, Paint Shop Pro or the crown jewel, Photoshop.
Come along and learn his trade secrets which he has been using for the last 25 years.

About the presenter
Andrew is an experienced technical communicator working with Fraedom in Auckland. He started out as an engineer in the early 90s and ended up writing the user guides for the stuff he designed. In the mid 90s when he wanted to emigrate to New Zealand, it was easier to get in through IT than as an engineer. Hence, his career in IT began. He started his first role as an IT technical communicator in 2001 and never stopped loving this creative profession since then.
