Christchurch Branch Event: How to speak effectively in public

As technical communicators, we are all able to express ourselves effectively and engagingly in writing, but being able to do so in speech, in front of people, is quite a different kettle of fish. Public speaking, or glossophobia, is one of the most common fears people have, so chances are a lot of you will be at least a little uncomfortable with the idea.

Enter Jordon Jones: technical writer by day, theatre junkie by night. With a completely accidental degree in Theatre and Film Studies and 25 years of experience in being silly in front of people (sometimes on stage, but mostly not), Jordon knows more about how to behave in front of an audience than your average bear.

Come along if you want to learn some helpful tips for giving effective presentations, need some ideas for shaking the stage fright, or just want to see Jordon be silly in front of people again.
