Christchurch Branch Event: Technical content strategy, and why it pays to be granular

Content strategy is a popular buzz-phrase these days – but we're not all meaning the same thing when we bandy it around. If you're a marketing professional, you'll be thinking of content strategy in the context of the persuasive content your organisation creates and deploys. As technical communicators, we're more interested in the information content, and guess what – your company needs a content strategy for that, too.

In this presentation, Emma Harding of Streamliners will briefly discuss how a good technical content strategy can support the organisation's business drivers. Then she'll introduce the most challenging part of the technical content strategy – the ability to reuse content successfully. Emma will explain why not all content management systems are equal, and how to know when it's time for component content management.
