Christchurch Branch Event - Field Trip to Canterbury Health System Design Lab

Register by 5:00 pm, Wednesday 13 May

Over the next five years, the Burwood Health Campus and the Christchurch Hospital will undergo a $650 million redevelopment. This is the biggest ever investment in public health facilities in New Zealand, and it requires “whole of system” thinking and design input to create work spaces of the futu??re.

The Canterbury Health System's Design Lab is in a massive warehouse, and is being used to mock up new concepts for hospital areas and ways of working. Hundreds of people from all parts of the health system have been involved in the design process. The Design Lab fosters engagement and innovation, and challenges our traditional views of how hospital services should be provided.

We are delighted that Richard Hamilton, CDHB’s Business Development Manager, will personally guide us around this “lab”, explaining the facilities rebuild and design processes, and telling the story of CDHB’s health system and transformation journey.
