TechCommNZ regularly holds local branch meetings which provide excellent education and networking opportunities in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. We advertise the meetings on this website and in emails to our mailing list. Non-members of the Association are welcome to attend, but are encouraged to join to take advantage of membership benefits.
- Round table discussion meetings, usually in a bar or café, where participants discuss a specific topic of interest (identified in advance). These sessions are informal and last up to about two hours.
- Presentation meetings, with a speaker at a suitable venue. These sessions provide useful insights into the use of tools or techniques of general interest and usually involve networking, the presentation, and questions and discussions.

Several times each year, we hold webinars and half or full-day training workshops on topics of direct practical use to professional technical communicators. Topics have included procedure writing, visual communication techniques and developing information for online delivery. Where possible, each workshop is held in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

Every alternate year, TechCommNZ holds a two-day conference. Presenters from Australia, Europe, the USA and New Zealand have delivered papers at previous TechCommNZonferences.
